A 68-year-old Marmora resident is facing a lengthy list of charges after Peterborough Police Service officers arrested him Wednesday afternoon following an ongoing investigation. Gordon Robert King was taken into custody in Peterborough, according to police.
The arrest came after investigators located King in the city. A search of his person and associated items yielded a significant haul: 9 ounces of fentanyl, 1.6 grams of white fentanyl, 49.3 grams of yellow fentanyl, 13 grams of cocaine, 16.8 grams of hard cocaine, 15 Dilaudid pills, and five vials of Hydromorphone. Officers also seized a shotgun, a pellet gun, pepper spray, a collapsible baton, and an Outlaw Motorcycle Vest bearing a 1% er patch.
Later, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Lindsay Road near Highway 7. That search turned up additional substances: 11.6 grams of yellow fentanyl, 15 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 4.4 grams of cocaine, 231 Dilaudid pills, and a glass bottle of unknown weight containing what appeared to be yellow fentanyl. Two imitation firearms were also seized from the location.
King has been charged with a series of offences, including multiple counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking — covering fentanyl, cocaine, Dilaudid, Hydromorphone, and crystal methamphetamine. He also faces charges of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.
"The quantity of drugs intercepted by our officers is significant and could have resulted in serious harm, if not death in this community. Our Investigators continue to work hard to interrupt and interdict the flow of drugs in this city," said Stuart Betts, Peterborough Police Chief, in a statement released by the service.
King was held in custody and made a court appearance on Thursday. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Peterborough Police Service.
