Lotto Max Jackpot Hits $80M Before Thanksgiving

Lottery players across Ontario have a big reason to pick up a ticket this week. The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced Wednesday that the Lotto Max jackpot for the draw on Friday, Oct. 9 has grown to $80 million.

According to the OLG, Tuesday's draw produced several million-dollar winners, but the top prize went unclaimed and rolled over, pushing the jackpot higher ahead of the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Friday's draw won't just feature the main jackpot. Players will also be competing for an estimated 14 MAXMILLIONS prizes, each worth $1 million, as well as 80 MaxPlus prizes valued at $100,000 apiece. All told, the OLG says $102 million in top prizes will be up for grabs.

Lotto Max draws take place every Tuesday and Friday, so anyone hoping to try their luck has until Friday evening to buy a ticket. With the holiday weekend approaching, this draw represents one of the largest prize pools available to Canadian players this fall.
