A registered massage therapist who practiced in our community is facing criminal charges after a client reported being sexually assaulted during an appointment this summer.
Isaac Griffin, 24, of Lakefield, was arrested and charged with sexual assault on July 20 following an investigation by the Peterborough Police Service. The charge stems from an incident that allegedly occurred during a massage session at a business near High Street and Lansdowne Street.
According to police, a customer came forward in July to report the alleged assault. Investigators moved quickly, laying charges within weeks of receiving the complaint.
Griffin has since been released under specific conditions outlined in an undertaking. His next court appearance is set for October 13.
The Peterborough Police Service has taken the unusual step of publicly identifying the accused because investigators suspect additional victims may exist. Griffin has stopped working in the massage therapy profession, police confirmed.
