Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation’s Send a Kid to Camp AXE-Travaganza returns

A sold-out crowd will be taking aim for a good cause tonight in Peterborough.

The Send a Kid to Camp AXE-Travaganza returns for its seventh year at the Peterborough Axe Club, with two fully booked sessions running from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and 8 to 10 pm.

Presented by Herod Financial Services, the event is the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year, supporting its long-standing goal of sending children involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society to summer camp.

Organizers say the demand has been strong again this year, with participants of all skill levels signing up for a night of friendly competition, along with a silent auction, light snacks and other activities.

Executive director Carrie Truman says the event is designed to be accessible and fun for everyone taking part.

Funds raised will help send about 150 children to camp this summer, giving them a chance to build confidence, form connections and enjoy experiences many wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
