Our community's hockey tradition continues to grow stronger as the Peterborough Petes welcome another homegrown player into their organization. Mason Quinn, a forward from Little Britain, has officially signed an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team, the organization announced Wednesday.
The Petes selected Quinn with the 59th overall pick in the third round of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection, and the 2010-born forward is eager to represent his hometown team.
"It's an honour to sign with such a great organization," Quinn told PtboCanada. "Being a hometown kid, it really means the world to me and my family to be able to join the Petes. I'm very eager to get going and make a positive impact on the team."
Quinn arrives with impressive credentials from his U16 season with the Toronto Marlboros. Over 28 games, he recorded 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points, demonstrating the offensive capabilities that caught the Petes' attention. He also contributed to the Marlboros' qualification for the 2026 OHL Cup, where he scored once across four tournament games.
Before his time with the Marlboros, Quinn developed his skills closer to home with the Central Ontario Wolves organization, where the Petes scouting staff had been tracking his progress for years.
"We're excited to welcome Mason to the Petes," said Michael Oke, the team's general manager and vice president of operations, speaking to PtboCanada. "Being from the area, Mason is a player we've been following for several years through his time with the Marlies and the Central Ontario Wolves. He's a hardworking, two-way forward who competes every shift and does the little things to help his team succeed."
The signing represents another step in the Petes' commitment to developing local talent while building a competitive roster. Quinn's work ethic and attention to detail align with the team's values, and his familiarity with the region adds an extra layer of connection between player and community.
